Speaking after the selection, Mark said:
“I got involved in politics to give a voice to the people in my community and as your Member of Parliament, I would make sure your concerns are heard.”
“We cannot go on suffering the lack of investment in our local area whilst Brexit negotiations continue for the foreseeable future.”
“I am someone who cares about our communities and will work with all residents in this part of Essex to make it an even better place to live.”
Myra Weir, Treasurer of Rayleigh and Wickford Labour Party and Parish Councillor for Hawkwell, added:
“I believe Mark is the best candidate to support the local community.”
“Mark is hard-working, friendly and approachable and I know he’ll do his best to help residents, businesses and voluntary groups in the area.”
